Assault on Fortress is a straight up attack the base with all you've got map. This map is for anyone who is crazy enought to launch a chaotic drop-pod attack on a fortress full of heretics and deamons in the form of Chaos marines while trying to fight metre by metre to gain control of some backwater fortress before the ruinous powers of Chaos complete a omplete a blasphemic ritual and save the Imperium of man in the name of the Emperor!

It is suposed to be played with LOTW mod but there is no problem in trying it with the original DoW DC.

Note: This is an unfinished map asking for help to be completed and become what it is meant to be.

Readme File:

First of all, this is my first map and it is absolutley not finish yet,
I post it here for everyone to try it and if someone like it or just the idea
try to help me out. It's very hard to do some of the things i would meke for
this map.So, if anyone wants to see this map finished in its fullness, plese,
send and me e-mail to: gpardell@hotmail.com

Also, if anybody knows of someone who knows map editing like dose guys from
comunity map pack (awsome maps!!), i dont mind to leave it in profecional hands.

The story:

In a planet controled by the Caos, a monstrous fortress wiz thousands of demons bla,
bla,bla... The Space marines try to take back the fortress before the traitors
can acomplish a blasfemic ritual of unknown nature bla,bla,bla... (the tipical
story of W40k)

The map:


How to use:

(this is what the map was made for, of course you can play it as you like)

- These map is made for playing with LOTW mod or, at least, is a better experince with it.

1.- You have to play as as SM (player 1) vs two armies of Caos (players 2 and 3 in team)
with fixed starting positions. (if you put the condition destroy HQ or assasinate,
it will make some things easier for you)

2.- When you start, you see that you have a main SM ship and three smallest IG ships.
the thing is that you have to train a very big army to atack the fortress and some
backup because when you start the assault, using the drop-pod's and the ground IG units,
the carnage will non stop until you secured the first part of the stronghold.

3.- Once you defeated the first army, you have to reinforce yourself to prepare
for the final assault.


- Once you have the drop-pod's full, put the Dreadnought button in auto-build position
to increse attack power.

- Remember that some Caos units have stealth.

- By destroing some enemy structures, you're allowing the enemy to strike-back to
your base, so you'll have to anihilate them before that happens or use it in your

- There are many destructuable objects, some let you pass throw other may be secret
passages to the heart of the enemy stronghold. (remember that it is not finished yet)

How to install:

- Just place the map in your THQDawn of War - Dark CrusadeW40kDatascenariosmp

- I didn't make a minimap cause I don't know how to (Apriciate help in this)


Plese, feel free to critcise the map with CONSTRUCITVE CRITICS.

Sorry if there are writing mistakes, I'm not english.

I think i doesen't miss anything.

BTW maybe for the fortress wall add some FAKE bolter shots to get that feeling of the tension of wars and the realism. Try adding some huge artillery bombardment on the fortress walls bridges ect. to bring the tension that dawn of war brings!. I don't know if anyone like it but try adding more bridges like 8 more (I mean it I love those sort of maps).big grin(This Map is already pretty good make it even more better!)

Maybe it is because it is suposed to be a battleship and the fortress is on the other side of the sea.

Guys, don't judge this map until you've played it. Because clearly you haven't/

I for one have, and I have to say it is not fun. There are way to many chaos enemies, it is 1 big spamfest. You can only reach them by dropping on a beach. Yet it isn't a cool normandy scenario in which you gain huge casualties and then engage the enemy in close-quarters, the enemy is literary unreachable. Chaos troops shoot straight trough walls and yet if you finnaly want to fight them you have to explore half the map. There are at least 16 chaos marine squads, 9 obliterators and numerous tanks. The only way you have a change is by utilising tanks. Which you cant deepstrike and aren't availbe because of that.

- To many enemies, not the "few against many" cool scenario but the "this makes no ***** scence scenario" if you get what I mean. You could remove some.
- Enemies unreachable. You should remove some walls so you can actually fight your foes.

Even when you deepstrike EVRYTHING at full strenght you still don't stand a change against the huge amount of units you've positioned there.

The environment though is great, it really looks like a chaos fortress and the attack ships were you and the imperial guard are mounted on look great. Also extra details like rogua psykers imprisoned by grey knights are added. The bad thing about this is that there are alot of neutral oncontrolbalbe units.

I know it's dificult, but I have to say i've played it more than once and I made it all the times. Maybe the diferens is that i usualy take more than half an hour to prepare my army until attac beguns. Once it beguns, I Hate that the caos IA seems to only think about deployng obliterators on easy and normal, but playing in hard difficult, the IA seems to like more the terminator squads and makes it easier.

I have to say for WIKIPADIA and others that think that it is impossible that i made it, and more than once, but not without sufering for about three hours of no real time playing (I mean with pauses).

The last time I've played, I get more than 600 deaths and more than 1800 Kills!!!!Rock

Anyway, if anyone wants to modify the enemy units, do it, and Enjoy.

FINALLY A BLOODY BATTLE OF STRATEGY ( my strategy is send in scouts then a hell of alot of drop pods to absalootly destroy the enemy! ) IM GONNA DOWNLOAD IT COS IT LOOKS AWSOME!!! RockRockRock

It's a brilliant map and I love it but if you made it could you make it workable for FoK?
