Bloody Corner (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
Do you get the urge for a quick but intense game? Bloody Corner is designed for 1 against up to 7 on a postage-stamp sized map. The author has enabled customization to fight against the number, race(s) and intelligence of enemies you like, choose your win conditions and run any mod you like as well. However, new race mods sadly don't work yet, but the author states it can be added. This map is mainly made for skirmish battles; however, if you want to put your skills to the test, you can also try it on multiplayer with other people, in real time.

Every attacking player begins with a premade base of their specific race and the defender gets a full base and set of “Honor Guard” squads and vehicles, so you can expect battles to start immediately once the game begins. As for the battles them selves, it can very frantic at times with lots and lots of blood being spilled, very top notch entertainment for replays and observers. The map it self is solidly built, with decals and objects placed at good spots of the map; however, at times, it might feel the map is a bit too small. The map also utilizes SCAR coding.

Using EZScar-2-016B.scar

Compatible with Dark Crusade or Soulstorm.

This siege scenario is designed for 1 against up to 7 on a postage-stamp sized map. You can customize it to fight against the number, race(s) and intelligence of enemies you like, choose your win conditions and run any mod you like as well. New race mods sadly don't work yet, but could be added! It is made for single player but should work for multiplayer if you are crazy enough to take on so many at once in realtime! Every attacking player begins with a premade base of their specific race and the defender gets a full base and set of “Honor Guard” squads and vehicles.

To install this, unpack the contents of the zip file to your mulitplayer scenarios folder.
Dark Crusade:
C: - Program Files - THQ - Dark Crusade - DXP2 - Data - Scenarios - MP folder.
Soulstorm:
C: - Program Files - THQ - Dawn of War - Soulstorm - DXP2 - Data - Scenarios - MP folder.

If this directory does not exist, create the Data - Scenarios - MP folder (the
parent part should have been created by your game install). On Vista, you may
find this directory in c: - users - YourName - AppData - Local - VirtualStore - Program Files - THQ

Unpacking should create a "Data - Scenarios - MP - floading" directory with the loading
image for Worlds At War in it.

Along with this map is the documentation for EZScar, one version of the EZScar script and a tutorial in a Microsoft Word document. You are welcome to use and-or modify in part or in whole the Bloody_Corner_1vs7.scar script for your own map or mod and do not need to ask for any specific permission. Please do mention, though, that you are using EZScar and keep its header intact.

i think it is too small, and that's why i won't download but looks good, nd god concept...
might dl thee comes some new maps that are bigger...
so i'tl be 7/10 from me, just by the looks

Well, I have to admit that it is excruciatingly small. I had a little storyline that accompanied the map, kind of explaining why it was so small, but it didn't pass the posting process. The real reason it is so small was that I wanted a map to play a quick but really intense game on and not spend a lot of time base building, resourcing and such. Just dive straight into the nitty gritty. It was helpful as I tested different defensive and offensive strategies with different races against one another.

I actually made this map over a year ago and didn't plan to share it since I didnt think it was quite good enough, but then it did get a bit better with the EZScar coding. There is a tutorial included that walks through the code and gives an idea about how to adapt it to other maps. Even if you don't care much for the map itself, if you are a mapper you could be interested in learning how to add EZScar. Believe me, I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the word, but this wasn't all that hard to work out and I hope others will be able to benefit by it.

i think if the map would of been alot bigger it'd of enjoyed it, but everything was so moved in close, althought while i was playing it i think it'd be a better idea to spread things out, and give the defenders a kind of fort, and the attacks lots of building room, ( cause with orks they tend to need alot of WARRGH signs) its a good concept i think just make the map a bit more spread out such

Yo redeemed74! That is one sweeet map.. Good to see winter maps out here. Question: I added weather effects to my map in the past using the objects in the winter fx folder but the weather doesn't show ingame. How do you add weather effects?...

#7 One reason an effect can be seen in the map but not in the game is if it is added to a player instead of world. If that player gets killed or never is there even from the start, then the effects dont work. I would check that first, and if it still doesnt come ingame there might be something else going on. Hope it works out for you!

everytime i try to save a game in this map it closes my game and says an error occured....how do i fix this problem and if you need more info to help me please say so and i will provide further information frown

Sorry to say, saving a game and then trying to load it again doesn't work well with the Scar coding employed in this map. It is best to play a whole game through each time, or pause the game if you have to stop in the middle of it. I hope to check into it though, and see if it can support saved games like the campaign maps do.
