This is an update to version 1.0 with a wider range of units and a bit more variety in the modding.

I have tried to stick with the civilian and pdf theme but could not help myself in adding the Valkyrie which can be used to drop storm troopers (and other squads) directly into your enemies base.

I have continued balancing out the overpowered elements, increasing build times and keeping unit health low, keeping squad caps on the more powerful units.

Readme File:
This mod adds a new race - civilians and pdf, to represent w40k world inhabitants
from the scum of w40k civilians to the respected adeptus arbites responding to invasion of their homeland.
This mod uses existing models in new ways and is inspired by the 'originalguard' mod.
There is no AI for this army, version 1 was quite over-powered in most games, I have tried to make it less so in this, version 2.0. This mod is best played using large maps in 4 vs 4, with the insane AI setting, allied with imperial guard.

How to use the mod:
This mod works with Dark Crusade and Soulstorm.
Once files are unzipped, place the civie_Mod2 folder and civie_Mod2.module
into the main dark crusade or soulstorm folder.
Then open dark crusade (or soulstorm) and use the game manager to open cive_mod2.

In skirmish mode choose your race as 'civilians and pdf'.

civilian builders - large groups of civilian workers, no combat ability

PDF - slightly weaker and less accurate than imperial guard, leader upgrade = retired guard

Feral Children - large numbers, low health, melee only, can burn stuff with 'torch it' ability.

PDF Veterans - equivalent to guard sergeants

Mutant Pysker (pyro)- these represent rogue psykers, they use the tzeench horror flame attack

Mutant Psyker (Doombolt) - can be part of the pyro squad, use the doombolt as a ranged attack projectile

Arbites - Slightly tougher than imperial guardsmen but very strong in close combat - when they
make it

Gang Heavies - ogryn model, form protective 'command squad'for mutant psyker

Retired Guard - once again pressed into service, toughend from a life in the guard and carry plasma guns

Guardsmen Hawke - a hero of the imperium, equivalent to Kasrkin sergeant, can join squads to make them fearless
or act alone with infiltrate ability. Can capture strategic points.

Storm Troopers - based on kasrkin, can be delivered directly to your enemies base by the Valkyrie to deal the deathblow from within. 6 squad cap.

Jail Heretic Scum - chaos 'slaves', these scum are excellent meatshields, sacrifice them for the emperor

Inquisitor - uses inquisitor Toth model, has 'Hammer Strike' ability and frag grenades, can add 4 leaders to retinue. Squad cap of 2.

Planetary Governor - colonel brom

Rusted Leman Russ - old wrecks revived and kitted out with missile launchers

Chimera - lasguns operate independant of number of occupants, pack a punch in large numbers

Vallyrie - produces storm trooper squads and jump ability allows them to be delivered directly into your enemies base to gut them from within.

Hq - builds pdf, chimera, civilian builders and pdf veteran, generates requisition and power
turret - guard turret, not upgradeable, generates some requisition and power
Hive Command - build planetary governor and arbites
Habs - build rusted leman russ, Valkyrie and Guardsmen Hawke
Slums - where the scum of the hive live, builds mutant psykers and feral children
Civie Jail - from here you can release the heretic scum for sacrifice and unleash the inquisitor upon your foes

Strategic points can be captured by pdf, pdf veteran and guardsmen hawke, but there are no buildings to consolidate captured points as the pdf rely on numbers more than strategic tactics.

Most of the units have a reasonable keen sight radius to reflect that as this is their homeland they have good communications and dectection systems in place - they just arent tactically skilled enough to use them.

In this version of the mod I have utilised UCS strings so no more '$' pre-fixes.

This mod can be used any way by any one, it'd be great to see it with AI. I would really appreciate any feedback.

DLing Now.

Its Only A Vague Possability, But How Would You Consider Making This Mod Part Of The Race Variants Mod? Of Coarse It Would Have To Be Edited To Make The Units More Powerful. The Race Variants Mod Version 1 Is Nearly Compleat... So Im Trying To Find As Many Mods As Possible That Would Be Compatible To Combine.

Well.. Permmision Is The Main Thing stick out tongue

But It Would Have To Be Intergrated Into The Race Variants Mod I Think.. Due To Units Requiring More Power The Match Up WIth The Other Races In My Mod.

I Dont Know Whether You Would Want To Make Them More Powerful Yourself And Then Send It To Me So I Can Intergrate It Into My Mod, Or I Simply DL And Change It, Is Up To You.

But Sticking An Exra Race IN There Would Be Really Interesting smile

The main 'Soulstorm' Folder is the folder that all your Soulstorm is in
e.g. Cstick out tonguerogramfilesthqDawn of War - Soulstorm

Hmmm... This Chap Helping Me Could Stick AI On This Pretty Quick.

I Think Ill See What I Can Do About Some Aspecs Of The Realism, Also, Then Ill Stick It Into My Mod And We Will Have A Nice Expansion to Both Our Mods.

I Think I Can Fix Te Valknry or However You Spell It Lol.

I Can Simply Edit Them With Corsix Mod Studio No Problem, using The Files Ive Downloaded From Here.

It Will Probably Be Very Different When It Comes Out In My Mod stick out tongue But Ill Send You The Files For THe Race So You Can Have A Copy Of My Version Of It, An So You an Release It As A Separate Mod If You want.

Im Going To Keep The Basis There, But Make Sure Its As Balanced And Realistic As It Can Be.
Due To Not Only Balance, But Im Going To Try And Push The Realism As High As I Can, So It Feels More And More Like A True DOW Race.

I Love The Resourcefullness Of This Mod, WIth All The Spare Models And Abandonned Units Brought Back For Use In SS smile

So With Your Permission (And Maybe A Bit Of Your Help?) Im Going To Help You As Much As I Can, And Give DOW Another Really Fun Mod To Play big grin

It won't work for me.It downloads but it won't play.I put the files into the DC file and it still didn't work.I'm going to try it on SS now.confusedfrown
