Codex - Lost and the Damned - Heroes (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
Heroes update file for the Lost and the Damned, with all the units in the race updated to allow to be used in th Heroes (code included in Codex mod or as stand alone mod)

The heroes special mod adds unit experience and leveling up to Soulstorm.

Also included are;

Change to the command squad, Renegade colonel replacing the Exalted Champion

Macharius Vulcan super heavy tank as an option to the Baneblade

Many thanks to CutterShane for the original mod, and Arkhan for the specials rework, thanks guys.

This is a lot of fun... I have only two suggestions if you're continuing to work on its (It's great as-is too!)

-merge the Sorcerer and Heretical Librarian into one unit: Sorcerer (model is Heretic Isador, with chaos abilities)
-In the painter, there are Renegade heavy weapons teams (one with autogun, one with mortar), but during play there is only the standard IG heavy weapons team

Also, if you like - I can make some badges/banners/team_colours based on Traitor Guard in the fluff for you to put in the next version? There are only a handful of named ones

REALLY sorry about posting this again but if you want to add mutants to the lost and the damned you could just use simple place holders for example (As said in other posts) plague zombies = weakened arco flagellants or even Dow 1 original guard unit (this unit should be a meat shield like the cultist). Also, mutant mob = weakened possessed chaos space marines and big mutants = ogryns with rippers. Also, you could use your beast of nurgle from the chaos daemon mod for the warp spawn.

PS: I discovered a renegade mod by Torzel on Moddb, could be worth looking into.

One final suggestion
-nerf the Command Squad a bit, especially for early game. The Fanatics (Priests) being able to use Fanaticism in T1 makes them able to easily defeat all other commanders and rush enemy bases in T1. I suggesting replacing Priests in the Command Squad with a buffed version of the Cultist

Spoken with Torzel, and actually given him a tiny hand on that mod. It's good to have some options I think, he's sticking to guard only, I've expanded to LotD, the choice is yours smile

goldenhorde, dude, I would love some colours badges and banners, nice one! Good spot on the fanaticism, address that, and need to balance them at tier 4, so shunting the libby to replace the sorcerer might work........
Still working on this (well "tidying"wink, just got to decide whether to leave this basic, or add lots of tech options (by chaos god, blood pact, fallen etc), or leave as I'm really happy with the way most of it works........

I know someone already asked this, but isn't there already an ordo xenos mod out made by the daemon hunters team for the original dawn of war? Is there any way you could get permission to use the Ordo xenos mod from them and somehow make it compatible with soulstorm? Just a suggestion.

PS: Thanks for noting my LotD ideas, but I just don't see how you are going to implement the mutants into the mod without place holders, since there doesn't seem to be a proper, working mutants mod out right now.
