Dawn of War v1.51 Patch - File Description  


Description:
This patch updates Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War / Winter Assault from version 1.50 to version 1.51, offering multiplayer fixes and more balancing adjustments.

General Fixes

- Network lag and stuttering improvements
- Game doesn’t use 100% of processor anymore when alt-tabbed out.

Game Balance Fixes

Global

- Reduced resources for deleting a finished Headquarters, Barracks, and Plasma Generator from 50% to 10%

Space Marines

* Tactical Marines
- Decreased health of Tactical Marines from 405 to 390
- Increased cost of Plasma Guns from 40/10 to 40/15
- Reduced Target Finders damage bonus for Heavy Bolters from 50% to 35%
- Reduced Bionics health bonus for Tactical Marines from 35% to 25%
- Reduced armor penetration of Tactical Marine’s Knife versus infantry medium from 70.383 to 60
- Reduced Tactical Marine’s Frag Grenade stun duration from 3.0 seconds to 2.5 seconds

* Scout Marines

- Increased health of Scout Marines from 285 to 295
- Reduced armor penetration of Sniper Rifle versus infantry medium from 75 to 50
- Reduced Bionics health bonus for Scout Marines from 35% to 25%

* Assault Marines

- Reduced research time of Melta Bombs from 70 seconds to 45 seconds

* Chaplain

- Reduced Shout duration from 20 to 15 seconds

* Turrets

- Reduced cost of Space Marine Turrets from 110/55 to 100/50

Imperial Guard

* Guardsmen

- Increased Guardsmen starting squad from 4 to 5 (squad cost and build time remains unchanged)
- Increased health of Guardsmen from 150 to 160

* Commissar

- Increased health regeneration bonus of Commissar by 25%

* Basilisk

- Fix – Basilisk’s regular shots don’t expend resources after firing the Earthshaker round

- Reduced damage of Basilisk by 20%

* Psyker

- Reduced duration of Curse of the Machine Spirit from 20 seconds to 15 seconds

Chaos

* Khorne Berserkers

- Reduced squad cost of Khorne Berserkers from 4 to 3

* Rhino

- Reduced support cost of Chaos Rhino from 1 to 0
- Implemented a squad cap of 3 Chaos Rhinos

Orks

* Tankbusta

- Reduced Tankbusta Rokkit damage by 10%

* Shootaboyz

- Increased Shootaboyz squad train time from 26 seconds to 30 seconds
- Increased damage of Big Shoota weapon by 20%
- Reduced cost of Big Shoota weapon from 40/30 to 40/10

* Sluggaboyz

- Increased Sluggaboyz squad train time from 16 seconds to 18 seconds

Eldar

* Dark Reaper

- Dark Reapers can no longer fire on the move
- Reduced Dark Reaper damage by 10%

* Warp Spider

- Increased armor penetration of Warp Spiders versus heavy high from 25.5 to 32

the patch is old folks, about 2 days old, it took a while to get on dowfiles though, i dont know y, but about the rhinos, they space marine rhinos already held 3 squads and took no space in 1.5, they did it for chaos inthis one, and all the mods work, so dont panic, you pplz really need to look at the threads more often

I downloaded this patch through DOW, windows says its corrupted and now whenever I run DOW multiplayer the game freezes and I have to restart the PC. Anyone got any advice?

Finally SM's aren't the pwn all others they we're in 1.4 and 1.41! Maybe now we'll see less of one SM squad tearing through three Chaos Marine squads and a Chaos Lord. Relic finally got it right with this one. Two Thumbs Up! Rock Rock

Oh and number 11 do u have many backreound tasks on? there should be a WA.exe backround task and i forgot the name of it but there should also be a updateiung backround task and you might need to enable cookies on your internet.stick out tongue

The SM got degraded again?
Doesnt sound too bad to me.
Usually when I play online I almost always go against teams where everyone is SM.

Gets old after a while

Some issues that Relic should address:
1. Fix the broken sync kill for the Berzerkers. C'mon now, it can't be that hard. The infantry units from the original game deserve to get chopped to pieces just as much as the new units in WA.
2. Numerous art glitches, such as the SM Sergeant that can have a power sword sticking out of his power fist. Again, these are things that shouldn't be difficult to remedy. If you can't fix the games you make, then you have no business making them in the first place.
3. More realistic AI would be much appriciated. Orks shouldn't run away from hand-to-hand combat, especially if they have full morale.

Relic should spend more time fixing what's broken before they needlessly tinker with game balancing.

Fix the khorne beserkers! THEY SHOULD NOT BE TEAM COLOURABLE! PINK KB IS JUST WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS!!!! well done making factions weaker but IG needed that basilisk, its their only reliable unit! the others do well but still get turned into sushi by chaos and sm, put the damage back up or further increase the damage

The SM teminators should be changed the most cos once couple of units have deepstriked into your hq their is no stopping them they dont even die from a load of plasma guns.

Like the fact they changed Berserkers cap back down. SM were always too strong in my opinion and deserves the down grade. I would like to see Imperial Guard made stronger though, hope Dark Crusade even ups the score for them.

It's a shame patchs always make units less powerfull and more c**p. CSM will be more matched up to SM now insted of getting pepperd all the time. And good thing the bailisk has it's damge reduced for the annoying people who keep using them online Aaargh!!!

the balancing is GREAT! i just dont understand those ppl who keep on whining about the game becoming better confused

theres a few bugs introduced in 1.50 whose fixes i dont see here though
like when theres masses of units some squads or even vehicles wont attack the enemy even when ordered to - instead they just walk over to the target and completely ignore it...

i liked the original DoW spider better than these... i abuse spiders non-top but its depressing to see them tear apart terminators... like on a squad to squad basis its ridiclous it reminds me of spiders in DoW in patch 1.2....... all u need now is to spam spiders and HW nades an u win np... commanders dont even stand a chance : /

I bet the next patch'll make all units of all races hav 1 HP and do 1 DMG with their weapons, and the Orks'll get no weapons or units except Grots... bloody Relic, trying to make us buy new expansions and making silly patches... And people stop saying this army is crap and this army that give it a rest each army has some thign its good at.
Eldar can get around the map as quick as hell and for some of you who like playing one on one in a 8 player map the eldar own the map with there web ways.
Plus the avatar the eldar have that like the orks have that large green thing and the chaos a blood thirster and IG Baneblade and now SM Land raider.
I hated playing agest SM in the normal DOW the SM where too strong and could get out four land raiders and kick all ass.
Any way i wont relic to make the IG stronger came on they just have a grende launcher and plasma gun what no flamer or melta gun and the seagent came on alest give them a upgrade when the tie gos up so they have a plasma gun and a power fist. and can they alest make the command squad stronger and make the orgyns range attack weak came on all they think is"me wont Fight".
and the Lemanruss came on alest give us the option to give it a hull mounted las cannon and for the sentail its crap never use does little damage to tanks and would be better if give upgrades to be good at Infanty and heavy.
and the Basilisk longer range and alittle more fire power and health and for the chimra hull mounted bolter and heavy bolter turret and more health for the Baneblade.
And this is random but i seen the Steel Legion mod but i wont a catachan jungle fighters mod and a new unit for the IG rattling snipers or just snipers.

Yeah they are the best soldiers in imperium but chaos space marines are as powerful as them, well they should be more powerful because they have been in the warp for few millenias, so when space marines run through chaos marine squad with chaos lord.. something is wrong, ay?

Okay, for all of you who claim this should be exactly like TT WH40K... Take it from a real player, it gets REALLY annoying when SM pwn everyone, everytime, no execeptions. You'd go to a tournament, and 4/5 people had SM or CSM. (Basically the same except evil and with demons.) It killed the variety and flavor of the game. They're doing a good thing by evening out the SM to be in line with the REST of the races. Now, if only Gamesworkshop would edit the SM and CSM codexs, life would be beautiful.

@ #9: Space Marines really did need it... Geeze they needed the nerf bad.

@ #15: If they improved the factions, they would have to improve every one of them except the Space Marines. Then the thousands of Space Marine players would moan and whine about not being improved.

The game <i>wasnt</i> meant to be like TT. It was created for people to pick a faction they enjoyed, and be able to enjoy a balanced game. In the fluff they are able to kill hundreds, or even thousands, of enemies before being incapacitated, or maybe killed. If that was the case on DoW, the tactical marine squads would be 1 man each, and common basic infantry for other armies would start out at like, 10 men, and upgraded to 20 max or somesuch.

after downloading the patch b4 the enemy ai didnt do anything im just wondering does it fix it in this patch

#50-Technically, the chaos SMs are entirely composed of super-duper veterans but they have lower tech armor and arnament then imperial SMs, but have daemons and other chaosey stuff at their disposal, so that may even the odds.
Though, Imperial SMs are trained for those conditions and most are groomed to battle 'traitors'. They also have the better armor and weapons.They are actually children compared to the milennia in service to the dark gods.Most imperial SMs usually serve for a couple 'o century (not counting dreadnoughtification)

Also, im concerned wether this 1.51 will work with most mods on the site as they have not listed comatibility with 1.51.
If it is not compatible, is there a way i can uninstall it without uninstalling and re-installing the whole game?
