Sinking into the Depths - File Description  

This 2v2 map takes place on the planet Talassar, where the Chaos and Imperium vie over a chaos relic. It uses many custom decals and may run a bit laggy on lower-end machines. The author suggests playing 1v1 with two teams turned off if you experience performance issues.

The Fluff:
G4179. A rock off the coast of Glaudor on planet Talassar in the Ultramar system. Contact with Talassar has been cut off for the past 48 hours. Upon arrival on the surface it appears the entire planet has been destroyed. The sour smell of death fills the air. No signs of life had been sighted until the company reached G4179 and the source of the carnage was discovered. A powerful chaos relic has fallen here and is slowly pulling this world into the Warp. But the Imperium are not the only ones to know if its' presence. Chaos has landed as well and wants the power of the relic for themselves. It seems neither side knows exactly what has happened here, but one thing is certain. Something has gone horribly wrong.

Sinking into The Depths is a 512x1024, 4-player (2v2) map for Dawn of War: Winter Assault. It has a lot of decals and even more objects. A good amount of lag is to be expected so if you are running a low end or average PC, play as 1v1 with two teams turned off. Otherwise, crross your fingers.

To install:
Place all the objects in directory
THQ\Dawn of War\WXP\Data\scenarios\MP
Then install hangar-8's decals pack in the enclosed .zip
You will also need to have Community Mappack IV for some of the decals.

Thanks to Relic for developing the Mod Tools, Hangar-8 for the awesome broken glass decals and thunder scar and EtherDragn for the dead world decals from the Community Mappack IV.

I play tested this map for him stick out tongue sicksick, i told you to include screenies! Have you changed it since you sent me it or is it still the same? i wanna know before i re-download it!
Its a good map, i see you made it four players, but it defaitnly is a testing map and will involve tema play.

Yeah, I added a few more things since your beta test, SM. Mainly details around the church and crater. To all others, enjoy. I put a lot of detail into this map. Now onto the next one! Devil!

This is a great map visually, but map makers need to understand that not everyone can afford a brand new decked out Alienware. Visuals are important, but if the map makes the game feel turn-based, than not even the visuals can save it from gathering dust on the "Maps I don't play" shelf. Luckily for me, I have a decent computer and THIS MAP PWNS ALL!! Great work blade, just keep in mind that lag can ruin a map.

great map, 11/10, you exeld on this map, its perfect, just one problem, i dont have the best of all computers, i mean, i usually never lag, but this map is a bit glitchy on my comp cause of all the fire, but other than that great job big grin

I couldn't play this map due to lag, but thats ok. In my opinion there really should be some maps out there for people who have better systems.

As people buy new systems this map will be playable by more people.

The seems to be a bit too large. Perhaps if more S points were dusted around it would be better.

One more thing blade. You did the community a favor by making transports useful on this map. If you continue with that type of size and layout in your next map, it will rule. So make it about the same size as this one.

ya my system aint the best i do get a tad of lag on this map now and then but all n all this has got to be 1 of the top 10 maps out there right now ! fen sweet feel free to max out my vid card any time!
