	Space Wolves Interview

	This Page has been viewed 45968 times since March 2004! Hello Lionsbane! Thanks for taking the time out from working on your mod to answer some of the questions we have for you. TheDoc:. First Could you give us a brief overview of your mod as well as your team? Lionsbane: The Team Mattze: WEb Page Madmerchant has been working on Icons. Anemos: Modelling so far has done Logan Grimnar and is working on more. Also I'd like to thank everyone who has played and posted critiques, ideas and suggestions. They are all helpful. I only wish I was better at coding to make more of them work correctly. Myself: Coding Mod Overveiw: To bring the flavor and style of the Space Wolves from the TT and fluff into Dawn of War. This includes a complete rework of the basic files for the Space Marines into workable versions of their Space Wolf counterparts. A new research and tech tree might be in the works depending on how we want to approach building a Space Wolf army during game play. Eventually I'd like to work a single player campain in that follows a single character from recruitment to full Wolf Lord status, this would obviously be a long involved campain. I've contacted someone about custom voicing for the Space Wolves and have several ideas for theme music. TheDoc: Does Space Wolves stand for your first attempt as a mod? Lionsbane: The Space Wolves mod for Dawn of War is my first attempt at a mod for any game. I've found the LUA language very easy to adjust, Hopefully I'll be able to pick up more of it so I can better bring the Space Wolves to life. TheDoc: How close to the SW codex do you plan to stick? Lionsbane: I'm going for as close as possible within the constraints of Dawn of War. So I won't be following such things as the 6 troop limits placed on 40k tabletop armies, but will be trying to make each unit work much as it does in the codex. TheDoc: How many new models are in the making for when the ability to add them is released? Lionsbane: Most of the Space Wolves will have minor additions to the standard marine models in Dawn of War. However there will be a few new models. TheDoc: Are any of the special characters for the space wolves(i.e. Ragnar Blackmane, Logan Grimnar, Ulrik, etc.) going to be added? Lionsbane: Ideally I'd like to add them all. Including some of the older version 40k characters such as Bjorn the Fellhanded and Njal Stormcaller. TheDoc: By which aspect of its engine are you the most admirative? Lionsbane: The Dawn of War engine? I'm impressed with a lot of the things relic has done with their engine. I think the thing I like the most is the many variable animations that even the most basic trooper is capable of. TheDoc: When can we expect to see the next release of your fine mod? Lionsbane: Generally I've been getting them out every few days to a week. I like to act fast on feedback from the many Space Wolf fans who post/email. I try hard to take everyones ideas and thoughts into consideration. TheDoc: How good has fan support been for your mod so far? Lionsbane: Fan support has been almost overwhelming. I'm very happy so many people enjoy it. In fact if the website ever gets up and going well, I'll be asking for help from those who want to help. TheDoc: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans before we wrap this up? Lionsbane: Yep, I'd like very much to say thanks for the patience with my mistakes. And even more thanks for all the valuable support and praise. I never expected the responce this has gotten. I just wanted to see the sons of Russ kicking ass.
