Hey Fellow Gamers.

Ever Played Winter Assault and you find yourself yelling at your Pc because of the Balance issues, Things like getting
Overwelmed by Fire Prisms knowing that you cant fire back or getting owned by an army of Khorne berserkers or Ork Nobs.
Fear not my fellow players for have created a mod to prevent you from killing your PC in Frustation.

This Mod changes the Attributes of all the Units in Winter Assault close to that of the TableTop, because i used the
very stats themself. The Mod is almost done just having issues with getting it to the web site lol

Sounds pretty cool. Personally I get mad at the computer for being so mean to me. Personally I try to use a mix of all different characters for an overall more fun scenario but when I'm overwhelmed with one type of enemy it really kills the fun. I'm looking forward to this mod.

are you serious?

so like space marines have a 4 in 6 chance of hitting or sumthin?

dreads can inst-kill any basic inf?

Something simular, the game is now more like the table top .e.g.

The marines now have really good fighting units but they are expensive in points and resources

The chaos are the same

The orks are crap in range combat but make up with sheer numbers and they are really cheep

The eldar now really fragile and expensive in there elite troops but make up in speed of attacks

And finally IG guardsmen are crap in both but like the orks make up with numbers
however there tanks are something to be afraid of, and yes dreadnoughts kill in about 2 - 3 hits!!! smile

This should make life a bit more interesting,that means Chaos and Space Marines will be forces that will no longer get laughed at or called Newbi Armies.

Pah... 1.41 is balanced... stop complaining of getting PWNed by skilled ppl. They rush you with one single unit group because they know that alone can kill you... but you don't know how to counter it? Do you?

If you did then maybe they would send a mix of units instead. Pros are cunning vipers and hunt their pray and tailor their tactics to suite the opponent. If you get cheesed its your own fault.

How many times do I have to tell ppl this... Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

How to counter Zerks... DANCE LIKE A QUEEN!!

How to counter prisms USE ANTI TANK INFANTRY OR PROBES!

Should I go on?

The SM are so over powered its crap and they should have more ranged attack and chaos should be more CC oriented orks overall shouldnt suck and eldar are ok because for the first 7 mins of building a base ur open to be killed and there dependant on there vechicle like the IG. and IG i dont know

sorry for teh double post but the squiggoth and other large damage dealing units should do the damage that there set at because the squig should be able to kill a base in 3 to 4 hits stick out tongue

sounds cool, i hate it how 3 squads of non upgraded guardsmen can kill 3 squads of space marines without a hard fight, does my head in soooo much!!!

Well it sounds like some people are interested but im having problems with getting it tot he web (stupid hotmail)

But heres a taste of the stats of the basic infantry and general changes except for the guy who thinks its balanced Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

General Changes:
Increase squad limit to 2000
Increase vehicle limit to 1200

Starting Requisition to 1500
Starting Power to 150

Squads are now deployed fully reinforced ( except for squad leaders and hvy weapons)

only thing that sucks about DOW is that IG infantry die to quick because of low lifeAaargh!!!, and baneblade is weakTwo Thumbs Down!. The SM r too powerful.............the life of the SM is like about 1038!!!! bugs the hell out of me that it takes 5 squads of IG guardsmen to kill 1 squad of SM.............wtf is up with that??? it's because the guardsmen get the gernade launcher before plasma guns which really sucks, it should be the other way around!!!!!!!!!!................... and another thing.......SM upgrades to missle launcher, or heavy bolter, etc. do toooooooooooooo much damage and kill ur units so fast............Chaos marines need help too.............there only upgrade is heavy bolter that does like 73-91 damage n SM's does 141-200........big big difference...........chaos get owned by them.............this mod...............i hope...............will fix this and make the game more fun...........i get so mad when i lose................i quit out of the game to Windows and leave..............thats how *****ed i get when i lose to them....................plz fix this Ph1ll88............plz?Cry

I agree, especially about the baneblade, it doesn't do nearly enough damage, either that or it doesn't fire fast enough, and the armor is like tin foil.

i find nothing wrong with the balencing on winter assault as it seems quite fair to me, but it isn't warhammer 40k if u know what i mean, not quite fluff some might say.

The balance on the game isn't perfect. But almost every team has an equal chance. It's all about discovering what units counter other units and what strategy works against certain opponents. One way to help with that is to watch recorded games, learn what other people do and figure out a way to counter it. WA did a great job of making quite equal, where as the origional did present some major balance issues.

One other question: How many computers do you think can actually support increasing the caps that much? It seems absurd to increase it that high. Besides unless you are increasing the amount of cap space each squad takes up by a LOT, you couldn't field that many units in a normal TT game anyways.

I agree with sniperdan the last game did include some balance issues, and WA
did fix some of them.

LOL Dont worry Sniperdan, lol the squads and vehicle caps are also being increased to accomidate e.g. SpaceMarine Squad = 135 Points.

But what ive noticed is that people are refering back to balance, this mod was not designed to make the game balanced/unbalanced, it was created to bring the combat reality to the game by editing the stats.

Yeah, WA fixed some balance issues. Just to come up with about a Miriad of new ones...

What skill does a Commie rush need? None...
And how much more skilled do you have to be, to be able to counter it?

And about Eldar: someone posted they are okay - ROFL!!! If you think their Infanterie sucks, you just don't know how to use them. 7Min Base Building till Eldar can do something? -HA, ever heard of FalconRush? -Its about 3min till first Falcon

and this list could go on for eternity...

fortunate is that each Race has quite a lot of Imba *****... so people these days keep abusing it like hell. They Act like: "Who needs skill, I'll just keep spamming my instant win units! You got a balanced Army, made of different Unit Types? LOL face my spammed doombringers hehe! Yeah another Win for my streak...." -this behavior sucks, makes many people quit game till 1.5 is out *sigh*
