  Second Community Map Project is in final beta testing! - Community

News from Fuggles about his latest mapping project! Also, a few familiar faces in his list of mappers, its good to see old staffer Jack has stuck with the DOW community!

Regardless, i wish Fuggles and his team the best of luck in the beta stages and i hope that he doesn't find any errors that will delay the release date!

Just a quick update to say that the second community map project has just entered the final testing stages!

This map is the product of 9 separate mappers from the DoW Community who all took a little section of the map to work on each. It's been in the development since March 2008 and boasts a stunningly diverse range of locations to fight across such as a downed Khornate battle cruiser, Necron tombs, Orky swamp and Imperial graveyard.

and not only do we have a beautiful and unique level by some of the leading mapping talent but it also features a network of player controlled stargates which allow you to quickly send your forces around the world, courtesy of our mysterious and devastatingly handsome SCAR coder.

This map is for for DC and SS and represents an astounding feat of community teamwork. We're all hugely proud of what's been achieved in this project and so we're just giving it some final polish before we loose it on the world.

Posts: 122 		Thanks for the kind words! Just to be clear though, it's not a map pack, it is one map worked on by nine people.

That cruiser is the brainchild of the unspeakably talented Jaguar-Lord who has been project manager on this effort - I'm just doing a bit of PR big grin

Posts: 246 		This one doesn't have any of the members from the original in it I don't think, its basically only connected by the name.

And this one has been pretty well planned out and executed so far, I've played it on a computer that I just installed DoW on and didn't get any pink ?s so I don't think that anyone who installs it properly should.

idk if it was from dowfiles but guys! we dont want semetrical undefendablemaps of attacking-from-all-side-ness!!!

Posts: 67 		Finally the CMPII is released !!!

I hope everyone downloading it will have a great game experience with it and will be pleased by the map.
The beast is a 1024x1024 monster and as you may know, such big maps can be a bit laggy on lowend computers.
anyway i have a serious game on it with two other friends this weekend on good computers, FFA and insane AIs and the game lasted a full 3 hours before one of us won the game.
this map is tough !!
